This inspiration came to me while I was browsing through my old magazines Good Housekeeping May 2008. You can easily "Step Up" those stairs with a splash of color! Vibrant shades in Fiesta Orange, Key Lime and Watermelon jazz these steps right up! Even if you have carpeting, peek underneath and if you find the plywood in great shape - by all means, paint away. Lightly sand the steps, apply a primer such as Zinsser BIN Primer - tape off a "runner" and simply apply latex based paint in these fabulous colors! For a solid top coat apply two thin coats of an acrylic polyurethane.
