I have been diligently sanding and priming my teak table, benches and adornondack chairs. I sanded heavily prior to applying the primer, wiped off after sanding using a "tack cloth" and repeated the process for what I thought was a smooth finish. I applied primer with a short bristle brush ensuring that I allow it to fully penetrate into the porous wood. Once dry, I noticed rough spots speeing through the primer. I sanded those areas with a the mildest grade of sandpaper and touched up them up with the primer. I can now run my hand across the table and find a smooth transition with no rough spots. This step was crucial because if I were to apply the color, the application would have been unfinished and had rough spots. Preparation is key to any paint project, always follows manufacturer’s recommendations on preparation, application and drying times. Off the apply the first coat of color ...I will be sharing the completed project shortly! More to come!

Angie's philosophy is simple: take on projects that are affordable and easily achievable. Look for inspiration in magazines and make the projects your own. Hers are real projects for real people and they don't require you to have a background in art. Test
