Turn your holiday string of lights into cash!  Check with your local utility company but many of them are now offering rebates if you turn in your receipt for newley purchased "qualified" string lights - The LED lights generally cost anywhere from $12 to $22 - generally the utility company offers you credit on your bill.  It's a basic win-win stiuation where you help reduce energy costs which helps the utility company run more efficiently and then in return you can get a few bucks back!   Double check with your utility carrier - I have even heard of a light exchange where you drop off your old lights and they give you new LED Energy Savings lights !   By far worth the 10 minutes to check either on line, your utility bill may have information or call their 1-800 No!
