After the kids have gone through years of gaming, music and movie CD's we have plenty that have suffered the wrath of frisbee playing, tossing them and accidential scratches!   We've been saving them and decided to recycle them by using the damaged CDs as gift tags for friends - simply by using colored sharpie markers directly on the CD and then tieing it onto the gift bag or wrapped box - along with our theme to recycle we generally use brown grocery bags as wrapping paper - cutting the bag in half and then using the plain inside of the bag as gift wrap.  We also enjoy condensed OJ and juices and try to recycle the top lid.  I wanted to pick the kids brain and see what type of project they can come up with using these recycled items.  Well, here it is!  A contemp funky CD Snowman that can be used as a winter decoration or ornament.  You can also customize the snowman by using a sharpie marker.  I was pretty impressed with the use of the dark green pipecleaners as ear muffs and old buttons from our button jar.

We used Rust-Oleum's Universal in Titanium Silver and you should see how the silver glitters!  Another great family gift is to make as many CD Snowmen as family members, of course customizing each one to fit the personality of each member.  Direclty glueing them onto a wooden yardstick and tieing a decorative ribbon to each end to hang as a picture or decorative plaque.  Check out the process in between steps one, two and three.  We loved this project!

Angie's philosophy is simple: take on projects that are affordable and easily achievable. Look for inspiration in magazines and make the projects your own. Hers are real projects for real people and they don't require you to have a background in art. Test
