Last year I scored big at a yard sale and picked up this wrought iron shelf along with a gate door.  They both needed a little TLC and ended up paying $6 for both pieces.  I sanded them lightly because they had layered visible rust.  Wiped them free adn clear of the dust and sprayed them with Rust-Oleum's Rusty Metal Primer - two light coats just to be sure!  Rust-Oleum's Universal in Wrought Iron had that perfect smooth black finish that gives these pieces the perfect end result of wrought iron.  I've had this shelf up with the gate above it along with my concrete angel and everyone loves how perfect the welcome is when they enter the front door!  Be sure to always give a yard sale item a third look even if it needs a bit of elbow grease, believe me that is a true treasure!

Angie's philosophy is simple: take on projects that are affordable and easily achievable. Look for inspiration in magazines and make the projects your own. Hers are real projects for real people and they don't require you to have a background in art. Test
