Ring in 2011 with health, happiness and organization!  A few great tips that I have tackled in our household that truly help keep us organized!

Shoe Rack Storage for Winter Gear

My kids love to go tubing, sledding and skiing - living in the midwest you need to always be prepared for the cold and snow.  In my mudroom I hang a canvas shoe rack on the back of the door.  Each individual pocket is stuffed with mittens, hats, scarves and yes, sunblock and chapstick.  Personalize each pouch with either fabric marker or sharpie marker.

Jewelry Organization 101

Organize your jewelry by sorting, separating and going through what is no longer "hip"!  Set each set into ziploc snack bags and lay them back in your drawer.  For post earrings, use your old buttons with 4 holes and post each earring into a button - it's easier to grab a button then search for a set of earrings.  Bagging your jewelry also helps keep silver bright and because air tarnishes silver once you bag it - the silver will stay shiny.

Clothing Donation Rules

Basic Rule of Thumb when it comes to clothing...if you haven't worn it in the past two years - feel free to donate it.  Chances are...it's a bit dated or just never fit exactly the way you wanted!

Habit For Humanity

Going through all of your old paints, including those quarter cans of spray paints can be donated directly to the Habitat!  Log onto to www.habitatforhumanity.com for drop off centers.  Keep in mind that a quarter can of spray paint can add life to an old mirror, frame or vase.  Just the exact touches the Habitat can use when finishing or rehabing a home!

Angie's philosophy is simple: take on projects that are affordable and easily achievable. Look for inspiration in magazines and make the projects your own. Hers are real projects for real people and they don't require you to have a background in art. Test
