Using the discounted boards I purchased from Home Depot, I decided that making a custom Valentine Welcome Sign would be perfect!  I did apply Zinsser 123 to the bare wood to seal in the knots.  Added two coats of Painter's Touch 2X in Gloss Berry Pink  and WOW... the color is vivid and matches the lid perfectly! 

Simply trace a heart shape (I used a plate we had) and then simply paint the inside with acrylic paints - allow that to fully dry and then paint on your love message!  This one will be a keeper for years to come!  This can of Painter's Touch 2X has been going and going...only used a quarter can for this sign!
