The inspiration here was a ledge that is about 20 feet up in the family room and was basically bare.  These wooden pre-cut flowers are from Ikea but they had colors that just did not co-ordinate with my colors.  My first instinct...I can spray paint them and I did!  Taped off the top half of the flower and sprayed the stem and leaves with Rust-Oleum's Painter's Touch 2X in Leafy Green.  The flowers in Painter's Touch Brilliant Blue, Honey and Painter's Touch 2X in Sun Yellow.  The terra cotta pots can also be painted but I decided to place the pots and see how they looked...I was happy with the end result!  Basically stuffed the pots with styrofoam blocks and then wedged in the wooden flower.  This project came in under $30 including the paint.  One consideration I had was that I did not want to spend a ton and felt that I may even make this upper ledge a "seasonal" type of decoration.  Possible to line pumpkins in the Fall, Mini Christmas Trees for the winter or even recycle the terra cotta pots, dry out branches over the summer and spray paint them silver, gold or white for the winter ledge!

Angie's philosophy is simple: take on projects that are affordable and easily achievable. Look for inspiration in magazines and make the projects your own. Hers are real projects for real people and they don't require you to have a background in art. Test
