Project Steps
Prepare your workspace by cracking a window (not literally!) and turning on a fan to increase ventilation. Or if you can work in the garage or the backyard that’s even better. Cover nearby valuables with drop cloths to protect them from spray mist as well
Lightly sand entire nightstand, knobs and all. This will help the paint adhere better. Wipe off residue dust from this light sanding with a damp paper towel.
If the original finish is dark, or you're painting bare wood, apply American Accents Primer spray to entire nightstand. Follow instructions on can.
Mask off any areas you’ll be painting the darker color. Of course it’s really best to remove these parts, set them aside on newspaper and spray them separately. But if you choose to leave them attached then cover them with newspaper and masking tape. Just
Spray the main “body” of the nightstand with the lighter color, American Accents Taupe. Follow the application tips and drying times on the can Stan. Reapply until you’re happy with the finish.
While the nightstand is drying (and if you removed these recommended parts) spray the top, drawer fronts and knobby-thingys with American Accents Claret Wine. And again, follow the application tips and dry times on the can.
Set up your “like new” nightstand and fill it with things that will ensure a good night’s sleep.
