Project Steps
The bedroom is often last on the list of rooms to redecorate with new furniture. Use paint to create a monochromatic color scheme to unify different styles of furniture. See idea #688 for a matching piece to this set.
Find a spot outdoors for this project to protect the inside of your home from spray mist.
Protect the ground and nearby items with a drop cloth or old sheets.
Remove any hardware and lightly sand the entire nightstand to rough up the surface. (You'll want to remove the drawers before you begin painting as well.) Use a damp cloth to wipe off any dust or dirt.
If the nightsand was originally a dark color, you'll want to spray the entire piece with American Accents primer. Be sure to follow the directions on the can for dry times.
Spray each drawer, door and base of stand with pale yellow paint. Don't paint the top of the stand, but don't worry about taping it off. Allow to dry completely following directions on can.
While the stand is drying, move the hardware and drawer pulls away from your work area. Spray each with the Classic Bronze metallic paint following re-coat and dry times on can.
When the nightstand is dry, tape off base and cover with plastic wrap or newspaper to protect from spray mist. Spray the top with Classic Bronze paint.
Once everything is dry, put the hardware back on and the drawers back in place. Add this piece to your new matching set to create a relaxing oasis.
