Project Steps
Now’s the time to gather all those mismatched chargers you usually hide when company comes over. Or pick some up from a local garage sale - always a great place for some cheap finds.
It's best if you can work outside. If not, carefully prepare a workspace by laying down some drop cloths, opening a window and turning on a fan. If there’s room in the garage, that might be a good place to work (open air and less distractions!). Just remember to move the car first.
Rough up the surface of the chargers with some fine steel wool and wipe off any residue with a damp paper towel.
Apply Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Hammered Gold to top and bottom of plates, following application tips and drying times on can. Now remember, the chargers are just for fun--no eating off these!
Next time the neighbors invite themselves over for dinner, place these fancy plates under your regular dinner plates and watch as their eyes widen in jealousy!
