Project Steps
Find a spot outdoors and cover nearby items with drop cloths to protect them from spray mist.
Remove the glass from the frame and attach antique door pulls to the edge of the frame with screws. (These will be your tray handles.)
Spray the rust base coat on the frame and door pulls and let dry.
Following the directions on the package, brush on the top coat and dab off with a paper towel. Make sure to keep a wet edge while you work.
Tape off triangles on the glass and cover two of them with newspaper. Spray on the Sierra Stone paint and let dry.
Switch off the covered areas and spray the glass with Black Granite paint. Let dry.
Put the glass back in the frame with the painted side of the glass facing the inside of the frame. (So you feel the glass, not the paint.)
Apply felt feet to the bottom of the frame to protect surfaces from scratches.
Surprise your special someone with a beautiful tray carrying wine and cheese.
