In a tiny bathroom, we needed storage as well as architectural interest in the room. We just built one standard size five-sided box, made nine of them and painted them white. We surrounded the tiny bathroom window with the cubby holes, making the window appear twice as big as it really was. For literally under $100, we created great storage and also added architecture to the room. I think this is so cool.

Materials
1 x 10-inch pine boards
Wood glue
Finish nails
Appropriate anchoring hardware (drywall or plaster anchors and screws)
Sandpaper
Tack Cloth
Hammer
Table saw or hand saw
Power drill and screwdriver
Project Steps
From pine boards, construct five-sided 10-inch square boxes with four sides and a back, securing the pine pieces with wood glue and finish nails. We made a total of nine boxes.
Sand all surfaces inside and out, then wipe away sanding residue with a tack cloth.
In a well-ventilated area, preferably outdoors, spread drop cloths and place wood cubes over cloths for painting.
Following directions on the can, prime all of the cubes and allow to dry.
Following spray paint can directions, spray the insides of all cubes with Painter’s Touch Gloss White Spray Paint using a light, even spray. Let dry.
Spray paint the outsides of the cubes with Painter’s Touch Gloss White Spray Paint. Let dry.
Repeat the spray painting steps, adding a second coat to the inside and outside of each cube.
Lay out the design for the placement of the cubes on the wall. In our case, we surrounded a small bathroom window to make it appear larger. The cubes could be placed next to each other, lined up vertically and horizontally, spaced about 2 inches apart.
Using the appropriate drywall or plaster anchoring hardware, affix the cubes to the wall from the inside of the back of each cube with screws.
