Flower window boxes are a perfect way to add beauty not only to your home's facade but inside your home as well. Here's a picture of the flower window boxes I put up on my home. You can read the full article about how I did it.

Materials
Wooden flower window box, which you can find at your local home improvement store
rich potting soil
two hardy plants
silk flowers and ivy
hardware to hang the flower window box, such as the metal supports used to hang shelves.
Spray paint can, such as RUST-OLEUM, which is weather and rust proof. I like the satin finish paints.
Strong plastic bags to line the inside of your window box.
Project Steps
Begin by lining the window boxes to protect the wood from the water and soil.
Using RUST-OLEUM spray paint, coat your wooden window box with paint that's weather and rust proof.
After the first coat dries, be sure to add two more coats to give your window boxes a beautiful and durable finish.
Using rich potting soil, fill your window box 3/4 of the way and plant one or two hardy plants.
Add year-round color by mixing in silk plants and flowers, that will not need watering.
Hang your window boxes with someone's help, for safety reasons, and be sure to be extra cautious with the fastening, as the window box could pose a serious threat if it were to suddenly come crashing down.
