With all the Christmas glitter and sparkle, much of our Christmas decoration pleases the eye. But what about our other senses?

You can read my full article with many ideas to really make your Christmas decoration special by pleasing all five senses. Below I offer another, new idea.

Materials
Christmas decoration that pleases the ear, such as Christmas ornaments that play music, or a singing Santa doll. Or hang a slay bell over your front door, so every guest can jingle his way into your holiday home.
Christmas decoration that pleases the nose, such as scented candles set in festive candle sticks. Paint your candle sticks in RUST-OLEUM spray paint--red (sweet tomatoe American Accents) and green (Hunt Club Green)--for a truly Christmassy look.
Christmas decoration that pleases the palate: strings of marshmallows or candied apples.
Christmas decoration that pleases the fingers... well how about using embossed wrapping paper? Or hanging Christmas ornaments in unexpected places... and almost out of touch, to tease fingers to touch your Christmas decoration.
Project Steps
Here's an idea that isn't in my article: CHRISTMAS CANDY CANE CANDLE STICKS.
Take a pair of old, worn candlesticks. Using Rust-Oleum spray paint, paint the candlesticks all green. I used American Accents, Satin Finish, Hunt Club Green from RUST-OLEUM.
After the paint is dry, take painter's tape, stick a strip at the bottom edge of one candlestick and start to twist the tape around the candlestick. The tape should glue diagonally, and leave spaces uncovered (kind of like the design on a candy cane).
Now take RUST-OLEUM red spray paint (I used Sweet Tomato American Accents, satin finish) and spray your candlestick again. Even though your painter's time will be covered all in green, the red underneath will remain protected.
Do not wait for the green paint to dry, as this will cause the painter's tape to stick firmly in place. Instead, give it a few minutes. Then, when the paint is still moist, though it no longer trickles, carefully peel off the painter's tape.
For a true Christmas Candy Cane design, simply use red and white RUST-OLEUM spray paints.
Use Christmas scented candles, such as butter rum and candy cane.
