I had a small office with no window, no view. I missed looking up and seeing the world outside. So I created a fake window for it with a view and fake sunlight. It was easy to do with a wooden frame and Rust-Oleum spray primer and paint .

Here are the steps I followed. For a more complete explanation please see my article,
where I give guidelines for choosing the right view and finish for your fake window.

Materials
Old window or a window picture frame, with at least six panels.
A poster with your choice of landscape view. (See the guidance rules to follow.)
Cheap, flat neon light
Curtain rod, curtain and valance
Project Steps
Remove the glass inserts from the window picture frame.
Prime and paint with the finish of your choise
Staple the poster to the back of the fake window.
Hang the fake window, then hang the neon light right over it.
Hang the curtain rod. Hide the neon light behind the valance, and the cord behind the curtain.
