I had a long, dark hallway that needed some serious help. I created the illusion that it was shorter by cutting the visible space with base molding (I describe how I did it in in this article.) Then I need to create matching wall decorations, so I used old calendar prints, aged them with paint, created custom mats and finished a set of cheap frames with RUST-OLEUM spray paint. Read how I did it in this article. Here are the basic steps.

Materials
An old calendar with lovely prints
cardboard
RUST-OLEUM paint of your choice
Cheap picture frames
Project Steps
I aged the calendar prints by diluting RUST-OLEUM paint with a little water and then smearing the prints.
I cut the cardboard to create mats and painting it with diluted paint that was a little thicker in texture.
Then I spray-painted the frames to match each other. RUST-OLEUM has man different textures and finishes, so there are endless way of creating custom sets of wall art.
