The idea for this craft was inspired by Martha Stewart's Living Magazine (Nov, 2007). I bought a cheap mantle clock at a home decorating store. Then I removed the timepiece and used the mantle clock to display beautiful knickknacks. I used Rust Oleum paint to give the mantle clock an elegant finish. You can use crackle paint for another stunning finish idea. I gave the mantle clock as a gift to a friend, and she LOVE it!

Materials
Cheap mantle clock found in home decorating stores, garage sales, flea markets or even pharmacy chains.
Screw driver.
Push pin or tack.
Rust Oleum paint in the color or finish of your choice.
Project Steps
Remove the sliding door from the back of the mantle clock to access the back of the timepiece. Use the screw driver to gently loosen it from the mantle frame.
Stick a push pin inside the mantle clock at the top to hang your ornamental display. (You can also insert a 2x4 wood cube below to display things on.
Paint the mantle clock in the Rust Oleum color of your choice. If spraypainting, be sure to work in a well-ventilated area.
Hang or place your knickknacks inside the mantle clock--and you're done!
