Store-bought air vent covers proved very noisy in my small home The air would rush through the narrow openings and create the whooshing sound of a train. So I created an air vent cover from a garden trellis. It's silent and very pretty.

Materials
Garden trelli
Saw
Screws and drill
Rust Oleum spray paint
Project Steps
Measure the size of the opening you wish to cover with the air vent.
At your home improvement store, see if they can cut the garden trellis to your measurements (they did for me).
If they refuse, cut it yourself with a hand saw but work slowly as the trellis can snap in the middle if you apply too much pressure.
In a well-ventilated area spray paint the trellis to match your wall color.
Paint the hole in the wall over which your trellis will sit.
Screw the trellis in place.
