To decorate my kitchen, I created vintage wall art using kitchen towels, thimbles, buttons and ribbons framed in cheap craft store frames. I spray painted the frames to match using Rust Oleum paint, and now my empty kitchen wall looks charming.

Materials
Kitchen towel
Thimbles
Buttons
Thread and needle
Glue
Craft store frames
Rust Oleum crackled paint finish or clear wood finish.
Project Steps
In a well-ventilated area paint your different frames to match, using the same Rust Oleum finish and color. Crackled finish is ideal for vintage style decorating, but clear wood finish will work well too.
Wrap the cardboard back of the frame with a kitchen towel, arranging it so the pattern you like will show clearly (in my case it was kitchen spoons).
Sew buttons to decorate the towel. Or glue thimbles or ribbons.
Frame your vintage art and hang it in a line or in clusters.
