After the pedestal came out of the wall, a school desk was trimmed and altered to hold the sink.

Materials
Sander and fine grit sand paper.
Metallic spray paint.
Clear coat lacquer spray to seal paint finish.
Plumbing to fit between the wall and sink.
Project Steps
The desk was trimmed on the sides and back to fit the 1/2 bath space.
The top was a sturdy laminate, and needed some sanding, but no finish. It was sanded smooth.
Sink placement was determined and holes cut for the drain and water hoses.
The base of the desk, which was metal, was cleaned and sanded where needed. Two coats of a silver metal rust proof paint was applied. (I think it was Rust-Oleum)
All the metal was given 2 coats of clear lacquer.
Flexible drain pipe helped adjust the sink to it's new position.
Shims were jammed under the sink to make sure it was sturdy and immovable.
The edges of the desk were roughed up a bit to give it that worn look.
