The restoration of the 1955 ShopSmith Mark V multi purpose wood working machine started out by replacing some speed control parts. That led to the complete disassembly, cleaning and stripping of old paint as necessary. Metal cleaning was done with CLR Metal Clear and Naval Jelly Rust Dissolver with plenty of elbow grease and abrasive pads. The refinishing was completed with Rust-Oleum 7582 Gray Primer, 210372 Biscuit, 243896 Satin Nickel and 214084 Orange. The unit was reassembled as per specifications with proper lubrication and protection.
